A further aspect of sustainable development is to build communities that are stable, cohesive and inclusive - through provision for people's diverse needs, enhancement of their quality of life and creation of opportunities and choice.

In such a sustainable community, people who choose to live there have sufficient services and support to meet their requirements.

This is the most broad-ranging meaning of sustainable development, encompassing all the economic, environmental and social aspects.
