HIGH PEAK
LOCAL COMPACT
PROGRESS TO DATE

September 2003
What's happening?
You will be delighted to know that our local High Peak Compact process is progressing well. After our Local Compact Day in July, we have held a series of meetings to offer YOU, local voluntary
Please email to us any comments about the High Peak Local Compact for display on an open-discussion forum page.
and community groups, the chance to say what YOU want in our local High Peak Compact.
We have now have an initial draft of our Compact which reflects some of the areas we have discussed, both at the Local Compact Day and theme group meetings. The draft is enclosed with this letter. However, we still very much need YOU to get involved and input your thoughts on matters that are important to you and your organisation. We want to create a compact that truly reflects local issues.

How YOU can have your say
Come along to the next round of meetings and take part in discussions to develop the Compact draft. We have already set out some key areas and now have a draft which, we hope, reflects the essence of previous discussions. We need you at the next meeting to work on steps to secure the Compact document. We anticipate having a representative draft by Christmas and a final draft ready by March 2004.
The work done on the Local Compact day in July has proved to be a very firm foundation for the start of the Compact process, and we have begun to incorporate the views and ideas of those present. But we want to make sure that our local Compact is truly representative of voluntary organisations in the High Peak and that's why YOUR views are important to us now!

Making it happen!

The next set of Compact meeting dates are to discuss the Compact draft, clarify the input and decide how we want to take the process forward. The dates are;
