The Small Group Big Impact event in Glossop on 15 of May 2009 was a great success, filling Bradbury House with lots of great people from the many small groups doing big things in our communities.
Sponsors this year were High Peak CVS, Tameside & Glossop PCT and Derbyshire PCT. In true Small Group
Project style, we made a big day out of little money, a lot of hard work and a big dose of goodwill.
There were two speakers:
Alistair Macdonald (ex ITN reporter and High Peak CVS trustee), talked about how to
raise the profile of your group and be creative when writing publicity.
Stuart Webster (director of Bluesci
Trafford), talked about mental health, how voluntary involvement enhances our mental health and how to
include people with mental health issues in your group.
We had lots of informative and fun workshops, just take a look at all the photos!
A great lunch allowed time to
network with other groups and entertainment was provided throughout the day by the very talented guitarist
George Fell.
Our fabulous day concluded with news from the groups, where Hope Valley Access, GLOSS,
High Peak Writers, Community Roots, Hayfield Over 60’s, Grapevine Women’s group and Glossop Access all
gave presentations and celebrated their recent achievements. |
